What is AirFibre?
AirFibre is our own wireless product; you get a Vfast product, installed by Vfast engineers with an expert Vfast support team behind you.
How does it work?
Our Airfibre is a wireless system which creates a direct connection between two locations, providing high speed internet access over long distances. Our connection is delivered through wireless technology, using poles and cables. To work, a clear line of site is required, which means there must be a direct path from our transmitter to the receiver without any obstructions falling within that path.
Our Airfibre is fibre delivered wirelessly and speeds can be comparable to that of a physical fibre line.
Unlike other services such as ADSL and FTTC (SoGEA), Airfibre does not slow down as you get further away. Issues with the connection will only become a factor if there are obstructions such as buildings or trees between the two points, if there are, we wouldn’t recommend this service.
Airfibre has revolutionised the way remote villages and locations receive an effective internet connection, as it can reach rural areas other services can’t reach.
Barham village in Kent is a perfect example, where a number of properties within the village benefited from our Airfibre solution before we were able to install a full fibre connection. Barham had very few options available to them at the time and due to the size of the area and available properties, Internet providers considered that it was financially unviable to install full fibre due to the infrastructure required. In short, our Airfibre enabled connections which were unachievable previously.
Since then, we have provided a full fibre line into Barham which has transformed the village, enabling fast, reliable, and secure internet for both the residents and businesses alike. 
Vfast works slightly differently to your traditional provider in that we do not require a landline connection in order to provide you with our AirFibre service.
However as stated, your property does require a clear line of sight to one of our many repeaters installed across the country, as we send the signal from a repeater to your property wirelessly.
Is it easy to install?
The first stage is to clarify that there is a clear line of site to our wireless repeater. Our customer experience team will book one of our engineering team to visit your home, they will check the line of site and report back to the office if there are any issues.
To install the AirFibre equipment, we place a receiver (an AC Logo) on the exterior of your property. This is usually placed as high as possible, so a chimney or apex of the property is preferred depending upon the design.
The receiver itself is usually a rectangular shaped white box. To put the size in perspective, if you were to fold a piece of A4 paper in half-length ways it is approximately a similar overall size.
We also have an alternative of using a small white dish which is approximately 30cm in diameter.
Finally, we may also use a Lite Beam AC unit which is the latest in a generation of products designed to integrate a separate WiFi radio for fast and easy setup using a mobile device.
Either option may be used depending on which would work best for your connection.
From there we run a cable down the exterior of your property and into your home to the room where you would like your router placed. This will involve putting a small hole in the wall. We supply you with a router which then emits the WiFi signal.
We will always try and ensure that the installation is as aesthetically pleasing as possible working with the customer from start to finish.
*A suitable power supply will be required to power the equipment.
